Medifast Food Tips
Every Medifast pantry should include:
A variety of Walden Farms Zero Calorie Products (found at Fred Meyer, Albertsons, or from their website)
Sugar Free Coffee Syrup (find the cheapest and the most selection at Cash & Carry)
Fat Free Redi Whip
Here are some ways to make the Medifast food taste even better:
Oatmeal - Add 1 cup of water. Stir and let set 15 minutes. Stir again. Microwave about 1 1/2 minutes. Stir. Add 1/4 tsp cinnamon and stir again.
Hot drinks - Add half of a packet and half water. Blend with a mini whisk. Add remaining packet and water. Whisk again. Add 1 tsp sugar free coffee syrup. Whisk again. Microwave 1 minute 15 seconds. Whisk 1 more time.
Chili - After adding water, let set 15 minutes. Stir again. Follow remaining package directions. Add 1 tsp sour cream and 1/2 Tbsp fat free grated cheddar cheese
Chicken Soups - After adding water, let set 15 minutes before heating. Add 1 Tbsp chopped cooked chicken and/or 1 tsp light soy or hot sauce after heating.
Vegetable Beef Stew - Add 1 cup water. Stir and let set 15 minutes. Stir again. Follow remaining package directions.
Shakes - Serve over ice. Add 1/4 tsp Crystal Light or 1/8 tsp extract (see smoothie recipes)
Bars - Heat in microwave 20-25 seconds, or spread 1/2 Tbsp of peanut butter on top.
Eggs - Add 1 Tbsp fresh salsa after heating and/or 1/2 Tbsp fat free grated cheddar cheese
Pancakes - Add 1/4 tsp baking powder before making. Add 1 Tbsp sugar free pancake syrup after making (Walden Farms is 0 calories) or make it in a mug (click here for recipe)
Brownies - Add 1 tsp additional water, or 1 tsp sugar free coffee syrup before heating. Add 1 tsp Walden Farm Caramel Dip and 1 Tbsp fat free Redi Whip
Pudding - Add 1 tsp sugar free coffee syrup before chilling for 15-20 minutes (in fridge or freezer). Add 1 tsp Walden Farms fruit spread and/or 1 Tbsp fat free Redi Whip
Tomato Soup - Add 1 tsp dried basil or parsley after heating, or use in to make MF Pizza.
Broccoli Soup - Add 1 Tbsp finely chopped cooked broccoli, or use in to make MF Pizza.
